“So am I,” Mary admitted. “But what about that painting? Did you really buy it because you were drawn to the woman in it?”

James nodded. “Yes, I did. And now that I’ve met you, I realize that she was a sign of things to come.”

Mary blushed at his words, but inside, she felt her heart swell with happiness. She knew that this was where she belonged, and she couldn’t wait to see what the future held for them.
